This past weekend we went to visit the Lewis family in Texas. Terry, Dexter and Kali are very special people. They were in the same GWCA April 27th LID group that I was in. For those who don't know what i am talking about, when you send your Dossier off to China you are issued a LID-Log In Date. Ours was April 27th. Adopted families seek others to share the wait with. Often those who are in the same agency and have the same LID create a Yahoo group to post concerns, questions and comments. Soon after I received my referral, a post came up asking if anyone was going to Hong Kong after Guangzhou. This post was written by Terry and I contacted her privately with my phone number expressing that i was. That email lead to a phone cal. I knew instantly that Terry was something special. When I finally met her in Beijing it was an instant connection. I felt as if I knew her and her husband my whole life. Our time in Beijing was VERY memorable. We had to say the least an interesting time with odd and weird stories that we still laugh about. One day if I have the time I will write about some of them. Let me tell you, you will be rolling on the floor.
For the long Memorial Day weekend we decide to visit them. What a wonderful 5 days. We picked up right where we left off and our love for each other has grown even deeper. Emilee and Kali got along like sisters and Emilee had an instant connection to her Uncle Dexter and Aunt Terry. She just adores them. Kali is an amazingly beautiful, smart, delightful child that has a great lust for life. I hope and pray that these two girls will continue to grow up together and that their friendship blossoms. I know that Emilee is very lucky to have this special family in her life.
