29 March 2011
Happy 5th Family Day March 29, 2006 From my journal they day we met There is no preparation for the first sight of your child. I studied your face, fingers and toes. I held my breath as you sighed, laughed when you yawned and wondered when you grasped my thumb. I could not get my fill of looking at you. There should be a song for mothers to sing at this moment or a prayer to recite. But perhaps there is none because there are no words strong enough to name that moment. Like every mother that sees her child for the first time, I was overcome and bereft, exalted and ravaged. I felt the world stop for just a second to bow itself to our union.
It all started March29,2006...................And it gets better everyday
Seeing Emilee for the first time
We are a family
Emilee and her Nannies
Three Generations
This was actually the first time I saw Xiu Xiu but I didn't realize it until a few months ago. Call it, The lost footage. A few months ago i was working on a video of my Journey to Jin Xiu, when I realized I had taken video of Children being brought into the Civil Affairs Office. I slowed the footage down and to my surprise they were our children. here is Emilee being carried into the building.I can not tell you how precious this picture, and footage , is to me. Every so often someone from our group in China sends me a picture of Emilee that was taken during our trip and its like receiving a treasure. Its the greatest gift i can get. ( Hint Hint to anyone that may have pictures out there)
