EMILEES FIRST DAY OF FIRST GRADE
OUR ANNUAL FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL CELEBRATION 
Its official I have a first grader. On september 8th Emilee started first grade. Its still hard for me to believe that my baby is in first grade. Where did the time go?!! Emilee could not have been more excited to start school. She was counting down the days, joyfully picked out each school item, had her back packed packed and had even picked out her outfit days before.
On the morning of the 8th Emilee woke up first squeeling that she couldnt wait to get to school. The morning started with a discussion. She wanted me to just drop her off in the car pool lane and I wanted to walk her in. She said to me that she didnt need me to walk her in anymore, but I admitted that I needed to to go for me and not her. Could she do it for me. and with a smile on her face she granted my request. We walked in hand and hand, snapping a few photos along the way. Once we entered the school she was greeted by her old teacher. Emilee flew into her arms and told her how excited she was. With a kiss , a hug and a little wave, Miss MaryAnn walked my baby to her new teacher and her new class. I just stood there as they dissapeared into the hallways with a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. She is growing up. No matter how much I want to freeze time, its immpossible. Im only along for the ride. And from what I saw with my confident, joyful child, its going to be quite a journey.
