Arenal Volcano
near the village of La Fortuna
On July 209 10967 Volcan Arenal exploded like a bomb. Over 5 sq. KM of land near the volcano was abruptly changed from pastoral farm land to a landscape of Dante's Inferno.
Since then, Arenal has been continuously active. The molten lava running down its side has temp. of 1699F.
