That morning there was no sign that this quiet Saturday would be so perfect and pure. The night before we had massive thunderstorms. The ground was soaked and muddy. By breakfast no one was out. It seemed like a quiet lazy day to relax inside and curl up with a movie.
Then it started. Emilee decided she wanted to go out in the back and play with chalk. Her dutiful cousins followed. I can not tell you was pure joy it is for me to watch the three of them play together. Then a neighborhood child came by to get in on the act. A ball was found and the next thing I knew they were tossing it back and forth across the muddy grass. No one cared that they were getting dirty. In fact it added to the fun and adventure. Soon more children followed and a game of Football broke out. It didn't matter that the age difference between the oldest and youngest was over 12 years; the younger one became targets you had to run around and avoid. Mud was everywhere, Children were laughing. And a memorable and old fashion fun day was being to be formed.
Then from out of no where a old muddy waggon was found and the fun grew like the new spring flowers that were pooping out everywhere. Back and forth everyone took turns pushing and pulling each other through the mud soaked ground. The air was filled with giggles and laughter. The sun decided to come out and enjoy the fun.
Could anyone ask for a more perfect day.
