JAMES LANE DAY AT SCHOOL

Last week was James Lane Day at Emilees school.  James Lane day is a big Day at Emilee's school.  its held every year the first Friday  of May.  James Lane was a student who along with his older brothers went to Emilee's school.  About 10 years ago he was diagnosed with leukemia  which eventually took his life.  After his death his parents donated all the back lawn cherry trees to the school and a bench in his name.  Over the years they have been very generous to the school.  While James was sick in the hospital he made and painted bird houses with his Grandfather to pass the time.  The school found out about this project and had everyone in the school make a birdhouse and hang it in support of him.  After his death this tradition continued. On the First Friday of may James parents come along with his siblings and other family members and all the grades perform songs for them as they hang their birdhouses around the campus.  It truly is a beautiful tradition.
