We are very fortunate that Emilee has wonderful school chums and that their Mommies are just as nice. The kids get along great together and we try to do play dates with all of them together. They get to play and the Mommies get to chat. A win-win situation. Last Weeks outing, The Rain Forest Cafe.

Off to School

Silly Girl

I CAN FLY.....................

Emilee loves the movie Peter Pan. She can sing every word to I CAN FLY, and jumps up and down on the bed pretending to fly. When we were at the Park the other day she figured out how to really fly ( 3 year old style). She lies in the seat on her belly and zip in the air with her arms stretched out screaming at the top of her lungs " I can Fly" . It was so cute to watch, I have to remember to bring my video camera net time.

Beautiful Xuwen Cousin Olivia celebrating her 4th Birthday

My family has been in the same business since 1912. Looking back at pictures its amazing to see how the generations of Children have had the same experiences. Fun with Trucks. My mom and her bothers used to ride my Grandfathers truck as it delivered oil. As a child, my brother cousins and I used to ride on truck and Hi-lows . In fact my brother learned how to drive a hi-low at 10. he loved to pick up the barrels and move them from one side of the yard to the other. One driver that used to take me all over the place was a guy named Michael. He started as a driver at a very young age and turned into a close personal friend. He kind of took my bother under his wing when my brother was just a kid. He taught my brother how to drive, they went hunting and fishing together and g-d knows what else. He is an incredible person with a personality and may I say looks to match. Emilee adores him. When ever she sees him she runs straight into his arms and gives him the biggest hugs. She has been asking him to take her for a ride on his truck, but since when even i am around i am always in a rush she kind of just climbs up and down. Last week she got her wish. Michael took her for a short ride to the Candy store. Emilee was beaming. she even got to blow the loud horn. She still has not stoped talking about it. Next week they have a Pizza date. Michael is picking her up with the Tanker Truck. What more can a girl ask for.

Fun Puzzles from Uncle David

Batteries Not Included...

Emilee has a really funny dry sense of humor. The other day we were in a restaurant and a baby was crying at the other table. I tuned it out, but it bothered Emilee. I tried to explain that the baby was very little could not speak so it cried to tell its mommy it was wet, hungry or tired and that when she was a baby she cried also. Emilee walked over to the baby and said, " Take the batteries out, please turn her off" The mother was not amused. I thought it was hysterical.

Lost in translation.

Emilee is positive that she know hows to speak Spanish. She also believes she knows how to speak French and Chinese. It's amazing what a few episodes of Dora, Ni Hao Kai Lan and a few of choruses of Frere Jacques will do for a child. She sings songs that are made up entirely of nonsense words and then tells me she is singing in Chinese. she can count to 10 in Mandarin and Spanish thanks to Kai Lan and Dora. And she know a few words in both languages. She asks me all the time how to say words in Spanish and sometimes I know the answer but most of the time I don't. She is convinced if you add an "A" to the end of a word that makes it the Spanish equivalent. She was talking to her fish Shang one day having a pretend conversation to him in pretend Chinese. She told me that Shang- her fish- only understands Chinese and she can talk to him. One day after watching Dora she told me she wanted to teach Shang Spanish. She repeated the words she heard Dora say insisting that Shang was saying them back to her. Then she kept saying sang is "Acutea". To which I said, "What does "acutea" mean?"She answered, with a bit of how-could-you-possibly-not-know-what-that-means shock in her voice, "Mommy, it's cute in Spanish."Oh, but of course it is.
