Emilee at 20 Months

What have I learned from Emilee? That anything can be funny That bugs are fun to watch That if you really look at the world, it has so much to show you That naps are the key to happiness That baths are for playing, not getting clean That Big Bird and Elmo Rule That running around the livingroom dancing the silly willy nilly dance is fun That horses, goats, cow, and dogs all sound alike That the wind blowing through your hair is hilarious That anything can be a hat That a snuggle can be the best medicine for anything That leaves are “dirty” after they change colors That watching a sleeping child can be the most amazing experience That life is and always should be One Great Adventuree Things I love about Emilee (besides everything) Her laugh, especially when she puts her hands over her mouth and cracks herself up Her huge smile and the way her eyes disappear and reappear, lighting up the room Watching her do “The Jumping Song” Watching her dance Watching her run I love the way she moves her head instead of the toothbrush when brushing her teeth The way she looks at you out of the side of her eyes and laughs when she realizes you can still see her. When she plays Peek-a-Boo When she plays tag The way she puts her hands over her ears and opens her mouth wide when something is loud or scares her The way she pats the couch or the ground for you to sit by her The way she pats a pillow to get you to lay by her The way she pats your back when she is hugging you The way for no reason she will run up to you and kiss you The way she looks at the world with such wonder and amazement Watching her sleep
