Last Wednesday New York had another 16 inches of snow and a snow day from school. This is a very odd occurrence for New york City. Our Mayor, who shall remain nameless, wont give snow days but instead keeps the schools open and advises its citizens to stay at home and not drive or better yet go to the theater. I loved the last blizzard, he urged New yorkers to not go out unless it was necessary and told us to keep off the roads, but then kept the school open. Now unless you have a teleporter, its impossible to do both. ( I kept her home anyway) But Wednesday was an official snow day and all the kids were outside, bundled up and their sweet faces beaming with sunshine. Emilee and i walked over to her friend Holly's house and had a snowball fight. Each team climbed atop their mount of snow. ( we have lots of hugh mounds around due to the fact we have no place to put all the snow). As you can see this mount is taller than the street signs. The kids had a great time. The climbed and slid, and threw snow balls for hours. Finally the sun began to set and it was time to go home. ( unlike Emilee I was freezing, thank god for my camera to keep my mind off Jack frost nipping at my toes---lol) We slowly pealed off out multiple layers of snowsuits, hats, gloves, scarves and turtlenecks and cuddled up with a hot cup of hot cocoa and watch TV. What a perfect winter day......
