AND SUGAR PLUM FAIRIES DANCED IN HER HEAD....

Getting Ready For Santa

ROCKY ROAD

Our annual Holiday Party was this past Sunday. Emilee and I spent all of Friday baking yummy treats and deserts. Emilee is getting really good at baking. Shes a real natural. Although I call her "Poison Control". When my cousins and I used to bake as kids one of us would scream Poison Control and eat the batter and then exclaim " OK I saved you. It might have been poisoned but I tasted it and everything is OK". Sometimes it would take 3-4 licks or bites to make sure it was safe and yummy for everyone else. Believe me everyone wanted to be Poison Control and often there was not even enough batter to make the desert. Its no wonder Cookie Dough is my favorite topping on Ice Cream. Well the torch has been passed. Emilee loves poking her fingers in the batter to taste. Its so funny, when ever we finish baking if you look at Emilee shes covered in chocolate, batter, sprinkles and dough. Shes yummy enough to kiss.
This is one of my favorite recipes. Its called Rocky Road and is the easiest and yummiest desert I have even had. If you would like the recipe let me know. You wont be disappointed.

Ginger Lillis first taste of Snow

wow, this is cold.
Wheeeeeee, sliding down the slide in the snow is fun
As I mentioned in a past post the weather in New York has been quite erratic. Last Monday it was almost 60 degrees and both Emilee and I were walking around without jackets. ( see our day showing off the city below) Tuesday was a different story. Below are pictures from last Tuesday 30 and snowing. Only 24 hours after our beautifully warm winter day. Emilee was so excited to jump and play in the snow. We didn't get much, but enough for her to make a tiny snowman and a few snowballs. This past week we had a nicer coat of snow for Emilee to play in. I will post pictures later.

Dear Lilli, June & Ginger Emilee;

Greetings from Rockefeller center, New York. Christmas in New York is amazing. There are carolers and Santa's on every block and the sound of bells fill the air. They even wrap up many of the buildings and decorate the windows with life size snow globes. But the highlight is the Tree at Rockefeller center. Its the biggest tree I have ever seen with millions of lights that glow in the dark and a beautiful star that lights up the night. There is an Ice Skating Ring under it and we had lunch sitting by it. I loved watching the skaters glide across the ice. Staci and Emilee said that we will be going Ice Skating later next week. I cant wait. Next year you have to come to New York to celebrate the winter season. All seven* of us will have the best time. We are now off to the worlds greatest Toy store. FAO Schwartz. I heard it has a live soldier that guards the door. Until mynext letter, I love reading about all the adventures Ginger Emilee is having. Give her a hug from me.

Hugs

Ginger Lilli

we cant wait for it to open so we can go for Tea
This is the famous fountain in front of The Plaza Hotel. Made famous by The Plazas most famous guest Eloise. Emilee was amazed that it didnt have any water in it. We go there in the summer and throw pennies in the fountain.
