Origionally an Etruscan village, the town was named after the Bishop of Modena San Gimignano, sho is said to have saved the city from Attila the Hun

 THE WORLD FAMOUS GELATO OF SAN GIMIGNONO. 
IT TRULLY WAS THE BEST WE HAD IN ITALY
