DETERMINATION

Emilee loves watching the other children and tries very hard to do what they do. Many times to Mommy's horror. At the beginning of the summer she saw one of the older girls at the park doing the Monkey bars. Usually I would hold her as she went across but when i went to hold her she said " No, Mommy. ill do it by myself". Everyday we would go back to the park and she would try over and over again to get across and after letting go of the first bar she would drop to the ground only to climb back up and do it gain and again. Then one day she was able to do two bars. a few days later three. But she was never able to get across. One day in the middle of the summer she asked me to bring my video camera to video so she could see herself, We walked to the park video camera in hand and on her second try to both our amazement she swung across one hand grasping the bar over the other. It was amazing. The one time I brought the video camera was the moment she first was able to get across. It was a true accomplishment. We both were jumping around and screaming as if we won the Olympics. Today she is a pro at the Monkey bars. I love the look on her face every time she gets across. You can see how proud she is of her herself and if you happen to glance at me, I'm just as proud of her. good job Baby...
